On July 16, 2013 Cavani was presented as a new addition to the French team PSG. The amount of the transfer was a record for the French championship – 64 million euro, and the Uruguayan will receive 10 million euro per year.

The contract is for five years and Cavani will be with number 9. On February 6, 2008 Cavani makes his debut for the male football team of Uruguay. In his first match Edinson scored a goal to tie 2: 2 against Colombia. Cavani falls in the composition of Oscar Tabarez for the World Cup in 2010 in South Africa.

Cavani scored the first goal for the World Cup against Germany in the match for the third place, played in Port Elizabeth. The match ended 3: 2 in favor of German team and Uruguay occupied the fourth place.
